Moonlock Dashboard
(Updated: )Status indicators and health score
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll find a clear protection status indicator. This shows whether your Mac is fully protected or if attention is needed. Visual cues such as color coding (green for secure, yellow for warnings, red for critical issues) help you quickly understand your current security posture.
Beneath the status, Moonlock displays your health score — nothing else but a simple number that reflects the overall strength of your Mac’s security. It is calculated based on active protection measures, scan results, and detected system vulnerabilities. While a high score means your Mac is in great shape, a lower number lets you know which improvements can be made.
If anything needs your attention — a missed scan, outdated virus definitions, or a disabled module — the dashboard will clearly guide you to resolve it.
Updating definitions and app versions
Keeping Moonlock up to date is critical for staying protected against the latest threats. The dashboard includes quick access to update tools for:
- Threat Definitions: These are regularly updated databases that help the Malware Scanner recognize new malware, ransomware, adware, and other threats. Moonlock checks for updates automatically in the background but also lets you manually trigger an update at any time.
- App Version: To ensure you have the latest features, performance improvements, and security fixes, Moonlock also keeps the app itself up to date. The dashboard notifies you when a new version is available and provides a one-click update option.
Both definition and app updates are lightweight demons that take place in the background without any impact on your Mac’s workload or performance.
The Moonlock Dashboard is your real-time security companion full of clear insights, proactive alerts, and easy-to-access updates.
