Required macOS permissions

(Updated: )

In order to live up to its promise of ultimate Mac protection, Moonlock will request a few essential permissions during setup:

  1. Full Disk Access
Required for scanning all areas of your system, including locations like Mail, system folders, and user libraries where malware can hide.
  2. Network Filters
Enables features like the VPN and Network Inspector. This allows Moonlock to monitor network activity and block suspicious connections securely.
  3. Notifications
Moonlock may alert you to potential threats, important updates, or security recommendations via macOS notifications. You can adjust how these appear in System Settings > Notifications.

You’ll be guided to grant each permission during setup. If you skipped one, you can grant it later in System Settings > Privacy and Security.
