No‑logs policy and exceptions for abuse prevention

(Updated: )

Moonlock VPN module is built around a strict no-logspolicy. That is, the tool never monitors, records or stores your online activity. We don’t know what you do online and it will forever be that way.

To be more precise, we do not collect or store:

  1. Browsing or search history.
  2. DNS queries.
  3. Original or assigned IP addresses.
  4. Connection timestamps or session durations
  5. Any traffic content or metadata.

Even if we wanted to share your browsing history with a third-party company, we wouldn’t be able to do so, as we haven’t had it in the first place.

Exceptions for abuse prevention

Moonlock’s VPN module’s infrastructure must stay healthy and reliable to ensure the no-logs policy maximum impact. Therefore, in order to prevent system abuse, we apply limited, temporary safeguard measures that are strictly scoped and never used to track individual users.

Examples include:

  1. Monitoring for repeated failed login attempts (to detect brute-force attacks).
  2. Temporary IP bans for DDoS or spamming activity.
  3. Anonymized performance metrics to identify overloaded servers.

These measures are applied solely to protect the service from abuse and not to surveil users. Any kind of collateral data collected is anonymized, minimal, and regularly purged to preserve your privacy.
