Data residency and retention

(Updated: )

Moonlock minimizes data storage and retains only what’s necessary for maximum functionality, efficient diagnostics, or undisputed compliance.

  • Data residency: Any collected data is stored on secure servers in regions compliant with international data protection laws.
  • Retention Periods:
    • Diagnostic and telemetry data: Retained only as long as needed for product improvement (typically 12 months).

    • Support and compliance requests: Kept for the duration required by law or for customer service follow-up.

    • User-identifiable data: Stored only if you’ve explicitly provided it (e.g., for support), and deleted upon request.

Moonlock follows a data minimization principle. Thus, it is only upon your permission that we collect only the data that is critical for refining the product performance.
